Mako Technologies Inc. has recently added to its rental inventory a 2000ft. depth rated inspection / light work class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) complete with control van and launch / recovery system. Mako’s ROV system is capable of performing 24 hour operations and numerous sub-sea tasks such as well intervention, levels I, II, and III platform inspections, platform abandonment and installations, search and recovery tasks as well as telecommunications cable inspections, and anchor mooring monitoring. General specifications on the ‘Mako’ ROV allow a maximum payload of 75lbs. Four horizontal and two vertrans thrusters deliver 150lbs. of thrust and enable the vehicle to hold station in excessive currents. The system contains 270-degree tilt cameras both black and white and high-resolution color option with videotext overlay. An MS-1000 sonar as well as altimeter is standard equipment provided with the system package. The vehicle’s aluminum frame and open undercarriage allow mounting of client specified accessories. A three-function manipulator comes standard with the system package to perform light work duties. A five-function manipulator can be provided upon client request.
